What it does
A beacon wired to the gate's alarm output so an activation is seen as well as heard. On a loud floor — music, generator hum, crowded aisles — a buzzer alone gets missed, while a light at the door pulls a guard's eye from the far end of the shop. Mount it where staff actually look, usually above the exit or at the security desk, rather than on the pedestal beside the customer.
