People-Counting

Footfall analytics that measure conversion and prove store ROI.

Overview

The problem it solves

Sales tell you what happened. Footfall tells you why. Without a counter at the door, a bad day and a quiet day look identical in the report.

An overhead counter records how many people entered, when, and how that compares with the transactions you rang up. That single ratio — conversion — is the fastest way to tell whether a slow week was a traffic problem, a staffing problem or a merchandising problem.

We install counters at each entrance, tune the detection zone to ignore staff doorways and window shoppers, and hand over reporting your area managers will actually open.

Capabilities

What the system does

Specified per store — not a catalogue page read back at you.

  • 01

    Bi-directional counting

Separate in and out counts per door, aggregated per store and per group.

  • 02

    Conversion reporting

Footfall against POS transactions, by hour and by day — the number that drives staffing.

  • 03

    Peak-hour staffing data

Hourly traffic curves so rosters match the floor rather than the rota template.

  • 04

    Multi-store dashboards

Branch-versus-branch comparison for groups running many outlets.

Hardware

What we supply

Overhead 3D counters
Ceiling-mounted stereo sensors, high accuracy in wide entrances.
Beam counters
Cost-effective single-door counting for smaller outlets.
Gate-integrated counters
Counting modules fitted into EAS pedestals — one install, two systems.

Model availability moves with the market — we confirm exactly what is in stock, and what it will cost to run, when we quote.

Best for

Where it earns its keep

  • Multi-branch chains comparing store performance
  • Malls and hypermarkets justifying rent against traffic
  • Any retailer setting staffing against real hourly demand

Not sure it matches your floor? A survey settles it in an afternoon.

Questions

Before you
buy

The things retail managers actually ask us on the first call.

How accurate are the counts?

Overhead 3D sensors hold 95%+ in normal retail traffic. Beam counters are cheaper but under-count groups walking abreast, so we use them only on narrow doors.

Can we exclude staff from the count?

Yes — staff entrances are either left uncounted or zoned out of the detection area at commissioning.

Does it connect to our POS?

Conversion reporting needs transaction counts, which can be imported from most POS exports. We scope the integration during the survey.
