What it does
A standalone smoke alarm only helps if somebody is there to hear it. This one pairs to the alarm panel, so a fire in a shut shop raises a phone alert instead of sounding to an empty street at two in the morning. Fit it on the ceiling in stockrooms, over the counter area and above any run of electrical distribution, and keep it away from cooking and from ceiling fans that thin the smoke before it reaches the chamber. Textile, paper and packaging stock load a retail unit heavily, so smoke cover is worth having on any premises holding stock overnight.
