Overview

What it does

The RW20 is the controller for a small wireless alarm system: detectors and remotes pair to it over 433 MHz, and it reports out over Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz) and GSM on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. It runs on AC 100-240 V with a 3.7 V 800 mAh backup cell behind it, so a mains cut does not leave the premises unarmed. The built-in siren gives 80 dB at 1 m, which is audible inside a closed unit but not much more; budget for a separate indoor or outdoor sounder on anything larger than a single shop. The panel body is 141 × 140 × 25 mm and is rated for 10-50 degrees C at 40-70% humidity, so keep it off an uninsulated roof slab or a sealed ceiling void.
