Overview

What it does

The G51 is the controller for a wireless alarm system - door and window contacts, PIR detectors, smoke, heat and gas detectors, remote fobs and SOS buttons all pair back to it over 433 MHz. It reports through Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz, WEP / WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK) and GSM on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, is armed and programmed from a phone app, and shows its state on a five-colour LED. Mains input is AC 100-240 V with a 3.7 V 800 mAh battery behind it, and the built-in siren gives 80 dB at 1 m. Pairing range is quoted in open air at >=400 m to a PIR detector, >=300 m to a siren, >=200 m to a door sensor and >=100 m to a remote - expect considerably less through a concrete shop building, so site the panel centrally rather than in a back office.
