What it does
A passive infrared detector picks up body heat moving across its field of view, which makes it the sensor for covering space rather than a specific opening. Mount it in a corner facing across the main circulation route, not down it - movement crossing the detection pattern is picked up far more reliably than movement heading straight at the unit. Keep it clear of shutters, air-conditioning outlets and sun-lit glass frontage, which are the usual causes of nightly false trips here. It pairs to the panel wirelessly, so volumetric cover can be added to an existing contact-only system without cabling.
