What it does
The sounder built into an alarm panel is small, and the panel is usually hidden in an office where nobody hears it. A separate indoor siren is what actually clears a shop floor and alerts the units either side. It pairs to the panel wirelessly and should be mounted high on a wall, out of reach, so it cannot be silenced in the first few seconds. Fit one per floor in multi-storey retail; a single ground-floor sounder rarely carries up a stairwell.
